Bandipora: Two policemen and an army man were injured after militants attacked them during a cordon and search operation (CASO) in Hajin area of Bandipora district in north Kashmir on Sunday, police said.

An official said that two cops, identified as Mukhtiyar and Fayaz Ahmad, were injured after militants fired at them from outside the cordoned off area in Kochak Mohalla of Hajin.

The injured soldier was identified as Sepoy Raj Kumar of 13 RR.

Earlier, Army’s 13 RR and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir police had cordoned off Kochak Mohalla Hajin after inputs about presence of three militants in the area.

“As the cordon was being laid, militants fired from outer cordon in which two cops were injured. The firing continued for about 30 minutes,” said the official.
