SRINAGAR: An amount of Rs 123.5 crore will be utilised to develop power sector under Centrally-Sponsored Schemes in the frontier Kashmir district of Kupwara, officials said today.
They said that for renovation, modernisation and augmentation of 33/11 kv receiving stations, Rs 14.78 crore stands released for Kupwara and Handwara towns.
“Seven villages are being covered under Rural Electrification Scheme, Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DUGJY) while Machil, Karen and Teethwal receiving stations will be upgraded by November this year at a cost of Rs 108.72 crore,” they said. (UNI)
