Chitrakoot: A Sub Inspector of Uttar Pradesh police was killed during an encounter with dacoits in Manikpur area of the district today.
UP police headquarters in Lucknow has confirmed the death of J P Singh, SI of Raipura police station. It further said that few dacoits were injured in the encounter and three weapons have been recovered so far.
The incident occurred when a police team was engaged in an encounter in Chirayya jungle in Manikpur area, with the dreaded Babli Kol dacoit gang. (UNI)
