New Delhi: A Delhi court on Thursday extended the judicial custody of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) chairman, Shabir Ahmad Shah, who was arrested in an alleged money laundering case.

Reports said that the judicial custody of Shah has been extended till September 13.

Shah will appear at the Patiala House Court on September 13 through video conferencing.

DFP chief was arrested by Enforcement Department (ED) on July 25 this year and is currently undergoing detention in Delhiโ€™s Tihar Jail.

Meanwhile, DFP spokesman condemned the continuous detention of Shah and termed it as illegal and undemocratic.

He said that โ€œthere is a possible threat to Shahโ€™s life as he has been kept among criminals in Tihar jail.โ€

Expressing serious concern over the health condition of Shah, the spokesman said the resistance leader is suffering from various ailments and is on medication.

โ€œThe continuous imprisonment of Shah is extremely inhuman behaviour and can seriously affect Shahโ€™s health,โ€ he said
