Srinagar: Day after a report carried by the daily Kashmir Reader, police on Wednesday recorded the statement of Farooq Ahmad Dar in the human shield case.

“I was called by police and my statement was recorded at SDPO office Magam in central Kashmir’s Budgam district,” Farooq told Kashmir Reader.

Pertinently, Farooq, an artisan was tied in front of an army Jeep “to avoid stone pelting on it” during Lok Sabha bypolls in Budgam earlier this year.

The army’s act was severely criticized by human rights activists, civil society members and political circles creating a huge controversy.
