Ganderbal: The District administration today started an anti-encroachment drive in Dudarhama, near the district hospital, here. The drive began with much hype as the administration descended to the spot along with a JCB machine to remove encroachment from irrigation canal.
In the day long action, the team of officers removed scores of trees which were erected by the illegal encroachers. The demolish process will continue till encroachments are removed,” official reports said.
In a bid to control the filth smell near district hospital and to enhance the flow of water for irrigation, the authorities in central Kashmir have launched a drive against encroachments on the embankment of the canal near district hospital Ganderbal.
DC Ganderbal, Piyush Sangla and SSP Ganderbal Fayaz Ahmad, on spot drive appreciate the whole staff for their dedication in making eviction drive successful, further reiterated that the drive will continue full vigour.
Later Rabiya Yousf Tehsildar Ganderbal along with other officials has intensified its drive to remove encroachment from the irrigation canal and cut down scores of trees during its drive.
The general public and civil society welcomed the drive conducted by district administration along with revenue authorities, Ganderbal Municipality, I&FC, SDRF team and police authorities and appeal to the team of officials that such type of drives should be conducted in future also.
DC Ganderbal Piyush Sangla further appealed to the general public not to encroach upon the irrigation canal and other places. which is a main cause of inferior conditions in the areas.
The officials who were accompanied, ADC Ganderbal Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari, Naib Tehsildar Ganderbal Rabiya Yosuf, DSP Headquarter Ganderbal Rameez Raja, SHO Ganderbal and other police and civil officials.
