SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik was on Thursday barred from taking part in a seminar on Karbala martyrs in Srinagar, said a spokesman.

He said Malik had reached outside the residence of Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani in Hyderpora where the seminar was being held.

“He was not allowed to move inside and asked to leave,” said the spokesman.

Earlier, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq said he was put under house arrest. He was also scheduled to participate in the seminar to pay tributes to Imam Hussain (AS) and other Karbala martyrs.
