Kannur, Sept 29: As many as 5,718 new cases of cancer have been detected from the two districts of North Malabar, according to Malabar population-based cancer registry report- 2014.
Malabar Cancer Centre at Kodiyeri collected the data from Kannur and Kasargod district and the data reports would be released by Health Minister K K Shailaja tomorrow, said Dr Sangeetha K Nayanar of MCC.
Kannur district has reported the highest number with 4,209 new cases, including 2,181 men and 2,028 women, while 1,509 from Kasaragod district, including 783 men and 726 women.
