Muzaffarnagar, Oct 5 : A dreaded criminal was arrested, while another was injured in an encounter with police in Khatauli area of the district here late on Wednesday night.
Police here on Thursday said that in the encounter a criminal identified as Saheebu, alias Sayeed, received bullet injuries and was rushed to a hospital in a critical condition.
One of his accomplices Arif was arrested, but another identified as Asad managed to flee.
All the criminals were natives of Niloha village under Mawana police station in Meerut district.
A cache of five country-made pistols of good make has been recovered from them as they were coming to supply these in Muzaffarnagar, police claimed.(UNI)
