A militant was killed in an ongoing gunfight with government forces while three more are reportedly trapped inside a house in Shopian district of south Kashmir on Monday.
An official said that gunfight began after forces cordoned off the Gatipora village of the district following “specific” inputs about the presence of militants
He said that militants hiding in the village opened fire after forces approached the suspected site, drawing retaliation from the forces.
“A militant has been killed in the gunfight so far. Three more are believed to be trapped inside,” said a top police official.
