SRINAGAR | OCT 14 : The mismanagement of traffic returns to irk people in Srinagar city after a brief relief of few months.

Commuters alleged that since the former SP Traffic was transferred, the vehicles are randomly parked on main roads, footpaths causing glare of problems for the commuters passing by.

The authorities seem helpless, failed to get rid of traffic jams in most parts of the summer capital compelling people to raise figures at the department on regular basis.

Worth to mention that in most of the places and important intersections, traffic police seem disappear, missing to manage, which stretches the congestion for hours together causing big suffering for ill people, pregnant women, children and old age citizens.

“At times people themselves come out of their vehicles to manage traffic jams. The traffic police seems lacking a management strategy to avoid traffic situation getting worse day by day”, said Wahid Bhat, a commuter.

Despite having enough manpower to manage the traffic efficiently, they have failed.  Jehangir Chowk, Badshah Chowk, Residency Road, Regal Chowk, TRC, Polo View and Ram Bagh Bridge, Jawahar Nagar, Mehjoor Bridge, Batamaloo and Qamarwari are the places where most of the traffic jam is witnessed on daily basis.
