Ganderbal,Oct 16 (KPS): National Conference (NC) on Tuesday held a protest demonstration in Ganderbal against the governments sluggish response to incresing braid chopping incidents. They were  protesting  against the alleged failure of the government to prevent braid-chopping of women in Kashmir.

Large no. of workers of the NC, led by MLA Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar,were  raising the  slogans against the indifferent approach of the government, the protest marched from NC district office  Ganderbal  to Beehama Chowk.

Ishfaq said women felt unsafe even inside the four walls of their homes.

Demanding immediate arrest of those who have wrecked havoc in the society, Ishfaq jabbar said,
“What empowerment they are talking about when a woman is feeling insecure in her home. People are dissatisfied as government has failed to take any effective and serious measures to unveil the faces behind this serious crime,”.(KPS)
