Srinagar, 22 October 2017: A mega meeting of more than twenty NGO’S of Srinagar was organized at “SRO BATAMALOO”. The main agenda of the meeting was to lay down the foundation of a             co-ordination committee of these NGO’S which includes Athrout, Akaar-Bakaar, Tawheed Form, Feto Batamaloo, Darul-Khair, Jammu Kashmir Yateem Trust, Allama Ibni Taymiah Research Academy, Sakhawat Centre,  International Human Rights Development Organization, Save Humanity Batamaloo, Al-Farooq Khidmat Trust, Helping Hands Of Islam, Al-Mawin, Helping Hand Welfare Trust, Youth Welfare Committee Bemina, Saaya- Shadow Of Hope, Muslim Baitul-Maal, ICDL Batamaloo. and SRO Batamaloo.  The central focus of the co-ordination would be “FIRE AND DISASTER  MANAGEMENT” in Srinagar. In the meeting the representative speakers deliberated upon the following aspects of the disaster and its management.  

  1. To bring about awareness about disasters at mass level by conducting seminars and workshops
  2. To conduct awareness programmes for preparation, response and recovery to disasters
  3. Establishment of special units for the rehabilitation of the victims of disasters.
  4. How to work in a systematic and well co-ordinated manner during the emergencies.

 

At the end of the meeting a vote of thanks was given to all the esteemed participants, besides NGO’S, that included academicians, jurists, students, residents and the media fraternity.

The meeting concluded with the plan that the next meeting of the co-ordination will be held at “ATHROUT”. The schedule of the meeting would be intimated separately to the participant NGO’S. (KPS)
