Rail service resumes in Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 28: Train service resumed this morning after remaining suspended on Friday for security reasons in the Kashmir valley, where a general strike was observed on separatist call.
‘We have resumed all train runs after suspending the service for security reasons following advisory received from police on Friday night, a senior railway official said.
He said train run resumed on Srinagar-Badgam in the central Kashmir to Baramulla in north Kashmir.
Similarly, trains will chug on Srinagar-Anantnag-Qazigund in south Kashmir to Banihal in Jammu region, much to the delight of passengers.
Saturday and Monday remained witness heavy rush of passengers, he said.
