Srinagar: Keeping with its drive to clear all roads for ensuring smooth traffic, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan today directed the officials to finalise the new parking spots within a week time to give further relief to people.

The Divisional Commissioner was speaking at a meeting to review the traffic scenario in Srinagar. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Commissioner SMC, DIG Traffic, Traffic Advisor, Joint Director Information Kashmir, SP Traffic and other officials.

The Divisional Commissioner said that 28 new parking stretches have been identified in the city which will be declared as paid parking within a week’s time after on the ground survey by SP Traffic and other officials.

The meeting also deliberated on other initiatives including opening of Bund road that passes under the Barzulla bridge near Bone and Joint hospital, shifting of power utilities at various places and repair of a water pipeline at Badamibagh. Divisional Commissioner directed the officials to continue the drive against illegal parking of vehicles, encroachment of road by vendors and shopkeepers.
