Jammu, Nov 10:ย  The district administration along with police on Thursday night launched an anti-encroachment drive and vacated hundreds of kanals of state land in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.

A crackdown was launched in the Mendhar area to vacate encroached state land, official sources said here on Friday morning.

They said the land belonged to different state departments was encroached on which shops and residential accommodations were constructed.
Contingent of district administration officials assisted by police launched the drive during midnight and vacated the land from the encroachers.

“Entire land has been vacated which is around hundreds of kanals,” they said.
