Srinagar, Nov 23 : Over 72,093 metric ton fruit production has been recorded in Bandipora district of north Kashmir during current year, an official spokesman said here on Thursday evening.

This included 70,300 metric ton fresh and 1,794 metric ton dry fruit, he said.

This information was given out at a day-long awareness-cum-training programme, organised jointly by Horticulture Department and Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), here today.

The scientists of KVK and the experts of Horticulture Department gave necessary training to the fruit growers and orchardists regarding scientific techniques of pruning and other related matters.

An interactive session was also held in which the orchardists raised queries regarding different fruit diseases which were answered by the experts.
