New Delhi, Dec 5: Anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare on Tuesday expressed his disappointment with the Modi dispensation, saying it had failed in fighting corruption by not appointing effective and strong institutions of Lokpal at the Centre and Lokayuktas in the states, and also not addressing farmers’ problems.
The Padhma Vibhushan octogenarian announced a nationwide “Satyagraha” on Shaheed Diwas, March 23, next year to draw attention of the Government to these issues.
Addressing a press conference, he said that earlier, the Manmohan Singh regime had failed to arrest the rising corruption in the government and now the Centre under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has only brought a watered down version of Lokpal Act.
