Shopian: Two guards killed after gunmen attack cash van in south Kashmir’s Shopian
Two security guards were killed after unknown gunmen attacked a cash van in Keller area of Shopian in south Kashmir on Monday.
Sources said that gunmen opened indiscriminate fire on the van at Poju Keller today afternoon, leaving two security guards wounded.
The injured bank guards were shifted to District Hospital where they succumbed.
Medical Superintendent District Hospital Shopian Dr Rasheed Para confirmed the deaths.
It was not immediately known how much cash was looted from the vehicle.
Government forces rushed to the spot and launched searches in the area after the incident, said an official.
