Srinagar, Dec 28 : Authorities today foiled a meeting convened  by the Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Shah Geelani at his residence, sources said.

“Forces did not allow anybody to enter the residence of Geelani”, a hurriyat spokesman said.

He said police had erected barricades on way leading to Geelani’s residence.

Additional deployment of police and CRPF men was made around the residence of octogenarian pro-freedom leader who is undergoing house detention since 2010.

Hurriyat (G) spokesperson Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar claimed that police arrested most of its members ahead of the scheduled meet.
