Srinagar, Dec 28: Authorities placed under house arrest the Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq today to prevent him from attending a religious gathering at Khanyar.
Sources said a posse of policemen arrived at Nigeen residence of the Mirwaiz and placed him under house arrest.
“Another gag ! Now on religious preaching. Again put under #HouseArrest to prevent me from addressing decades old traditional majlis-e-waz o tableeg at Dastgeer Sb Khanyar. Greatly pained! Pray to Almighty Allah to deliver us from this yoke of sufferings and subjugation,” Mirwaiz Tweeted. (Kashmir Wire)
