Srinagar, Jan 2 : Train service resumed on Tuesday after it remained suspended on the first day of 2018 for security reasons in south Kashmir, where five CRPF personnel and three Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militants were killed in a fierce 36-hour-long encounter in Pulwama since wee hours of Sunday.

However, service was not affected and trains chug between Srinagar-Budgam in central Kashmir to Baramulla in north as per schedule on Monday, a railway official told News Agency on Tuesday.
