Srinagar, Jan 12 : Militants attacked a police post in south Kashmir district of Shopian Friday night, official sources said.
They said militants attacked police post Keegam, Shopian tonight with automatic weapons. Security forces immediately retaliated and the exchange of fire continued for some time, they said adding the entire area has been sealed and a massive hunt has been launched to nab the militants responsible for the attack.
However, no one was injured, they said.
“Some exchange of fire at Keegam # Shopian near police post. No loss of life and property.Area under cordon.@JmuKmrPolice,” DIG of state Police south Kashmir range (SKR) wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
