Dhaka, Jan 12 : Three militants were killed and two members of Bangladesh’s anti-crime elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) were injured during a raid at a militant hideout at West Nakhalpara, near the Prime Minister office in the city on Friday.

 


Mr Mufti Mahmud Khan, Director (Legal and media wing) of RAB, said tipped off that a gang of militants were staying on the fourth floor of a six-storey building at West Nakhalpara, a RAB team cordoned off the building around 0200 hrs. 

 


At one stage, the militants opened fire and hurled a grenade around 0530 hrs targeting the Rab personnel,” said Mr Mufti, adding that the RAB men also fired back in retaliation.
Details are awaited.
A bomb disposal unit of the RAB is working on the spot where some IEDs (improvised explosive devices) have been found.
