Baghdad, Jan 15 : At least 26 people were killed and dozens wounded in twin suicide bombings in the Iraq’s capital Baghdad on Monday, the Health Department said.
Iraq’s interior ministry spokesman Saad Maan said the attacks were carried out by two suicide bombers, who detonated their belts in a crowd of workers at the Aviation Square in central Baghdad, Pakistan’s Geo TV said.
The Baghdad Health Department said at least 26 were killed and 90 injured. However, the interior ministry put the death toll at 16 with 65 wounded.
Eastern Baghdad Medical doctor and health chief Abdel Ghani al-Saadi reported “26 dead and 90 wounded.”
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
