Ranchi, Jan 24 : A special CBI court on Wednesday awarded five years of imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 10-lakh on former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav in fodder scam case number RC68A/96 which is related to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 33.62-crore from Chaibasa Treasury.

The court of special CBI judge Swarna Shankar Prasad awarded five years of imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 5-lakh to Mr Yadav under sections 120 B, 409, 420, 467, 468 471 and 477 (A) of the IPC.

Further the court also awarded five years of imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 5-lakh under sections 13 (2) read with 13 (1) (c) and (d) of the PC Act.
