Srinagar, Feb 2 : The Jammu and Kashmir police arrested a bootlegger and recovered illicit liquor from him in this summer capital.

A police spokesperson said a checkpoint was established in Shaheed Gunj, as part of a special drive against social crimes.He said police intercepted a person at the checkpoint and during checking, recovered 43 bottles of illicit liquor from him.

”The accused Mohammad Anees Sheikh was immediately taken into custody,” he added.Police have registered a case and initiated investigation to nab other people involved in the crime, he said.
