Jammu, Feb 7: Peoples Democratic Party legislator from Rajouri Choudhary Qamar Hussain today demanded that Crime Branch status report about the rape and murder of nomad minor girl Asifa should be tabled in the State Assembly.

The legislator raised the demand during zero hours in the House.

Pertinently, Asifa was raped and murdered in Heeranagar area of Kathua district. The incident sparked massive protests forcing government to suspend a police officer and hand over the case to Crime Branch.

“Now the Crime Branch is investigating the case. The status report should be tabled before this House so that we come to know about the progress in the case,” the PDP legislator said. (CNS)
