Chennai, Feb 8 : Paytm on Thursday announced that its QR-based payment solution was fast emerging as the default payment method for merchants across Tamil Nadu.

The company’s widely accepted QR was now enabling merchant partners across India to accept unlimited payments directly into their bank accounts at zero per cent fee.Paytm’s strong sales team was currently helping offline merchants across Tamil Nadu understand the convenience of accepting money directly into their bank accounts.

The platform would invest Rs 500 crore this year to conduct merchant training and awareness initiatives to scale operations across India.

The company has registered that restaurants, food outlets and quick service restaurants in Tamil Nadu transact the most using Paytm.
