Srinagar, Feb 12 : Two persons, who were killed in a road mishap at Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district early Monday, turned out to be militants.
SSP Sopore Harmeet Singh, when contacted, told news agency GNS that the two persons were riding on a motorbike and died in a mishap today.
The duo was shifted to nearby hospital and later removed to Srinagar hospital where both of them succumbed.
“One among the two killed persons is a local from Brath Sopore namely Owais Ahmad Mir son of Bashir Mir while the identity of another is being ascertained,” Harmeet said.
Regarding the Owais, he has joined militancy recently and was missing since last fortnight,” Harmeet said.
Meanwhile, official sources said that another person is also believed to be a militant and is reportedly a foreigner.
Pertinently, the duo was riding the motorcycle and met with an accident at Warpora today wee hours due to wet weather. (GNS)
