Dhaka, Feb 21 : Four people were killed and two others injured after falling from the roof of a running train at Raninagar railway station in Naogaon in North Bangladesh on Wednesday morning.

The victims were traveling illegally on the intercity train’s roof, said Md Akbar Ali, officer-in-charge of Santhara, GRP.

The deceased were identified as Jahangir Alam, 19, resident of Chirirbandar in Dinajpur, Munir Hossain, 22, of Parbatipur upazila in Dinajpur, Aminul Islam, 29, of Sappahar upazila and Apel Mahmud, 26, of Titopara village in Boda upazila of Panchagarh.

Quoting witnesses, police said six people fell off the roof of Dinajpur-bound Drutojan Express after being hit by an overhead girder at Raninagar station around 4:00pm.
Four of them died on the spot.
