Srinagar, Feb 25 : Demanding a High Court (HC) monitored investigation into the appointments in Khadi Village Industries Board (KVIB), working president of the main opposition National Conference (NC) Omar Abdullah on Sunday evening, said declining job by son of a senior ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader does not wash away the fraud and nepotism.
Mr Omar was reacting to media reports that after Chief Minister ordered inquiry into the appointment of Syed Aroot Madni, son of Sartaj Madani, vice president of PDP, he (Aroot) has declined the job.
Taking to micro blogging site twitter the former Chief Minsiter Omar tweeted, โ€œWhy should the probe be withdrawn? Madni declining the job doesnโ€™t wash away the fraud & nepotism. This issue must be probed by a High Court monitored investigationโ€.
Meanwhile, the Official twitter account of the NC said, โ€œ Our demands on KVIB and other recruitment scams by the PDP-BJP Govt: 1. Quash all such dubious lists that have violated the merit and trust of deserving, educated youth. 2. Order court-monitored, judicial probes. 3. Immediate resignation of KVIB Chairmanโ€.
The party further tweeted, โ€œThere have been thousands of such political, backdoor appointments made by CM @MehboobaMufti and her family members in the last three years – in Govt departments, Boards and prominently the J&K Bank. The PDP-BJP Govt’s continuous genocide of meritโ€.
Aroot was recently appointed as Executive Officer in KVIB. However, the appointment of Aroot evoked massive reaction on social media.
