Srinagar: State Human Rights Commission Thursday clarified that Human Shield Case is still pending and has only been partly heard.

There were reports that State Human Rights Commission has decided to approach High Court after Jammu and Kashmir Government turned down its recommendations to compensate human shield victim Farooq Ahmed Dar of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

In response to such reports, the Commission issued a statement that read: “In view of certain reports appearing in a section of press relating to hearing of Human Shield Case on Feb 28, the Commission clarifies that matter is still pending and has only been heard partly. The matter is not yet concluded and the case has been listed for next hearing on 4 April 2018.”
