PM Modi will visit JK in May

Srinagar: In a significant, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Jammu Kashmir in May to attend a function of Sher-i-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology (SKUAST) in Kashmir. Pertinently, This will be for the first time that the Prime Minister will attend a function in any Kashmir University.

Noticeably, During his visit to the state, Prime Minister Modi would also lay foundation of series of developmental projects. Official sources said Modi is scheduled to lay the foundation stone of Zojila tunnel. PM Modi would also lay foundation of National Highways of Jammu-Akhnoor, Kargil-Zanskar National Highway and two similar Highway projects of the Valley.

On the other hand, He is also likely to lay the foundation stone of two All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Vijaypur in Samba district of Jammu region and Awantipora in Pulwama district of south Kashmir.

This will be Modi’s first visit to Jammu and Kashmir in a little over a year. He had inaugurated Chenani-Nashri tunnel in Udhampur district on April 2, 2017.
