Srinagar, October 9: MLA Ganderbal, Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar called on Director General of Police (DGP), Shri Dilbag Singh at Police Headquarters (PHQ) here today and discussed various issues related to state and particularly to Ganderbal district.

Sheikh Ishfaq greeted the DGP and whole hearten, welcomed the appointment of honest and dedicated Police officer.

During the meeting, Sheikh Ishfaq appreciated the role of police force, particularly the lower ranks who are helpful to people on day to day basis throughout the State and in  Ganderbal district and perform their duties under different circumstances.

MLA requested the DGP to strengthen the community policing and youth development initiatives in Ganderbal district. He also discussed the issue of drug abuse and requested the DGP for stern action against the peddlers involved in the menace.

He also discussed the law and order situation of  the  of Ganderbal District and requested to strengthen the police public relations for conducive atmosphere in the area.

Mr. Dilbag Singh assured that the points raised would be addressed properly.
