Srinagar, Feb 15 : Four gamblers were arrested and stake money recovered by police in Srinagar, a police spokesman said on Saturday.
He said on a credible input about gambling activities, a police party from Police Station Nigeen raided a gambling site at Saderbal area in Srinagar.
He said four gamblers identified as Farooq Ahmad Zargar, Tariq Ahmad Sofi both residents of Saderbal,  Mohammadd Yousuf Khar resident of Kander Mohalla Ashai Bagh and Shabir Ahmad Mir  resident of Mirza Bagh Saderbal were arrested by police. He said stake money over Rs 9000 has been recovered and further investigations into the matter has been initiated.
Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law, he said adding community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
