Enforcement drives against traffic violators continued on day 10 in district Baramulla.


ARTO Baramulla along with his team conducted a series of enforcement drives in the district over the past ten days. In the drives so far 12 cabs and 8 motorcycles have been seized on the spot. Besides 296 vehicles have been challaned and  Rs 365000 has been realized as penalty over the past ten days. 

More than 50 drivers have been issued showcause notices for suspension of driving licences and 20 driving licences have been suspended so far. The enforcement drives were carried out in Sopore, Baramulla and Tangmarg towns and on National Highway near Tapper Pattan.

Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Muazzam Ali said that enforcement has been enhanced on the directions of senior officers in MVD Department and such drives will continue in the coming days in all towns of the district including Uri and Rafiabad as well. He said a number of precious lives were lost in road accidents in the last couple of months. 

He urged motorcyclists to wear helmets and ride carefully. He also urged the drivers to follow traffic rules while driving.
