Police arrests 5 gamblers in Baramulla

Continuing its drive against social crimes, Police in Baramulla have arrested 05 gamblers and seized stake money and playing cards from their possession.

Acting on a reliable information regarding the gambling activities, a police party headed by Incharge Police Post Old Town Baramulla under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla raided at Azadgunj Baramulla.

During raid, five gamblers were arrested & stake money of Rs-13200/- & playing cards were recovered from their possession.

They have been identified as Javid Ahmad Parray son of Gh Ahmad resident of Arampora, Kallu Sheikh son of Azeem Sheikh resident of Kalaroos Kupwara, Gh Nabi Gojree son of Sonaullah & Abdul Hamid Dar son of Ab Khaliq both residents of Azadgunj & Aijaz Ahmad Waza son of Mohd Yousuf resident of DK Marg.

They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Baramulla and investigation has been initiated.

Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
