In a heartfelt condolence statement, Qayoom Wani, chairman of the Jammu Kashmir Civil Society Forum and president of the Pensioners United Front, expressed deep sorrow over the death of Mohammad Shafi Pandit, the first IAS officer from Jammu and Kashmir. Wani praised Pandit as a distinguished administrator who made significant contributions to society in various capacities, including as a bureaucrat and civil society leader.

Wani remarked that Pandit's passing is a tremendous loss for the entire community and emphasized that his legacy would be remembered for generations. He offered prayers for the eternal peace of the departed soul and extended condolences to the bereaved family.

Leaders from both the Jammu Kashmir Civil Society Forum and the Jammu Kashmir Pensioners United Front voiced their sympathy and solidarity with Pandit’s family, praying for Jannat ul Firdous for the departed.
