J&K CM Omar Abdullah

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has responded to the resolution introduced by PDP's Waheed Parra on Article 370, stating that the people of J&K do not approve of the decision made on August 5, 2019.

He emphasized that if the people had supported the decision, the current outcome would have been different. He also noted that the resolution has no significance and is merely a publicity stunt.

Omar Abdullah said that the House's discussion and reflection on the matter will not be dictated by a single member.

He questioned the purpose of the resolution, suggesting that if it were genuine, the proposers would have engaged in discussions beforehand with them (NC).

Omar Abdullah’s  response comes after Parra submitted a resolution seeking the restoration of Article 370, which was vehemently opposed by BJP members in the Legislative Assembly. [KNT]
