Two women booked under PSA in Udhampur: Police

Last week, after booking a man under the Public Safety Act, today police in Udhampur booked his mother under the same Act along with another female on charges of providing logistic support to militants.
 
 On November 29, police in Udhampur booked Abdul Satar son of late Jamaluddin, a resident of Rai Chak Ponara Soni under the Public Safety Act on charges of acting as a guide and facilitator to militants. Today the mother of the same accused identified as Arshad Begum along with another female Maryam Begum of Loudhara Basantgarh were slapped with the Public Safety Act.
 
 Police accused these women of providing help to militants and acting as their guide and facilitator.
 
  District police Udhampur claimed that all these accused were over-ground workers and threat to security.
 
  “To prevent further criminal activities detrimental to the security of the state and keeping in view their activities they were ordered to be detained under the Public Safety Act,” police said. [KNT]
