The Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum (JKCSF), led by Chairman Abdul Qayoom Wani, has called on the government to urgently address the long-pending issues affecting around five lakh employees and three lakh pensioners in the region.

The forum has expressed concern over the delayed release of Dearness Allowance (DA) and the revision of medical allowances, issues that have created significant financial distress for public sector workers and pensioners.

In addition to these concerns, the forum highlighted several other unresolved matters, including the non-implementation of a court order regarding the commutation deductions beyond 11 years and the failure to regularize in-charge officers in the Education Department, despite a clear directive from the State Administrative Council (SAC) in 2019.

"The administrative inefficiency has left many retired and deceased officers unconfirmed, and persistent red tape, favoritism, and prolonged court processes have only exacerbated these problems," said Wani.

The JKCSF has demanded strict accountability for these administrative delays, urging that financial losses incurred due to negligence be recovered from the salaries of responsible officials. The forum also called for the revival of an effective grievance redressal mechanism to ensure that such issues are addressed in a timely manner.

Wani emphasized the urgent need for the government to resolve these legitimate concerns without further delay, ensuring justice for employees and pensioners who have been long waiting for their due rights.
