Sub-Inspector (Executive) Geeta Samota of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has achieved a historic feat, becoming the First Paramilitary personnel to successfully summit Mount Kiagar Ri (6,100 meters/20,013 feet) in Ladakh during the harsh winter season.

Geeta reached the summit of the Trans-Himalayan peak on January 19, 2025, at approximately 11:00 AM IST. Her climb was undertaken in extremely challenging conditions, with temperatures plummeting to -36°C and wind speeds reaching 60 kmph. Despite the adverse weather, Geeta demonstrated exceptional courage, resilience, and determination to conquer the mountain.

This remarkable achievement marks a significant milestone for both Samota and the CISF, bringing pride to the entire paramilitary force and her family. Her successful ascent of Mount Kiagar Ri during winter conditions underscores her exceptional mountaineering skills and unwavering spirit.
