Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has questioned the central government’s stance on reclaiming Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) while remaining silent on China-controlled territories in Ladakh.

Speaking in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, Abdullah reacted to External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar’s statement about taking back PoK, asserting that the government should act instead of making statements.

“The foreign minister says they will bring back the portion of Kashmir controlled by Pakistan. Did we ever stop them? If they can, they should do it now,” Abdullah remarked.

He further questioned why the focus remains solely on PoK, while China’s control over parts of Jammu and Kashmir is ignored.

"One portion is with Pakistan, but another is with China—why doesn't anyone talk about that?" he asked, raising concerns over the government’s selective approach to territorial disputes. [KNT]
